The Guardian wanted to know what people will be able to do with the new Apple tablet, so it asked a group of bloggers and assorted media types. (Drop it out of a train? Get shortbread fingerprints all over it? Crunch it up in an airline seat when the person in front of you reclines?)
Publishers have mixed feelings about e-books, according to Neill Denny from The Bookseller:
One of the big concerns is about piracy – for a hacker, breaking the protection on the new Steig Larsson would be a challenge that might make them some money.
He’s possibly underestimated how much of a publishing event ‘the new Steig Larsson’ would actually be, given that the thrillerist and fascist-smasher is actually, y’know, dead.
