Teaser Tuesday 10
6 April 2010
This is how it works:
- Grab your current read.
- Let the book fall open to a random page.
- Share with us two (2) ‘teaser’ sentences from that page, somewhere between lines 7 and 12.
- You also need to share the title of the book that you’re getting your ‘teaser’ from … that way people can have some great book recommendations if they like the teaser you’ve given!
- Please avoid spoilers!
Magical cities on real-world Earth again (and anthropologists in trouble) this week: Lisa Goldstein’s Tourists.
Mitchell and Dr. Wiley talked about university politics during dinner. Dr. Wiley had been in the biology department. Casey felt enormously glad to hear it; she would hate to think that someone with his attitude towards the people of Amaz could be an anthropologist. (p. 52)

Can’t speak for the rest of the world, but spring has finally sprung here in the UK, so we’re obviously in that kind of mood…. 🙂

Interesting…makes me wonder what’s so very different in outlooks between an anthropologist and a biologist. Nice teaser!
And thank you for stopping by my blog yesterday!

@ Celia – I think an anthro would be bound for professional hell if s/he came out with the sort of generalisation Dr W had just been throwing round at dinner… it’s practically the equivalent of violating the Hippocratic Oath 🙂
Not that biologists really ought to do that either, really 🙂
